There’s no doubt about it. This Spider-Man news has torn apart the Marvel fan community. Regardless of whose fault you think it is that Spider-Man has been effectively ripped from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’re all sad to hear about this. Peter Parker fit into this world like a glove, and with the way things were left in Spider-Man: Far From Home, we were all excited to see what the future held.
Of course, that’s all up in the air. As of right now, Sony and Disney seem to have split ways. However, as with all things, there is plenty of time for them to make amends before moving forward. Enter the fans. On Facebook, some have taken it upon themselves to organize a peaceful protest wherein fans can walk into Sony dressed up as Spider-Man to demonstrate their satisfaction.

Here is the official description of the Facebook event.
“We storm Sony Pictures in solidarity dressed in Spider-Man costumes and bring our boy home! This is a peaceful demonstration and violence will not be tolerated.”
They hope to not only storm the lot in Culver city, but to storm the corporate office in New York City. Obviously, the hope here is that Sony takes notice of all the fans who want to see Spidey return and sign on to whatever deal Disney puts in front of them.
As of right now, there are 7,500 fans supposedly attending this October 19 event. While this likely isn’t truly indicative of how many people will show up (we’ve seen these things fall apart in the past), it does show some dissatisfaction. Personally, I wonder why they set the date so far out. Why wait two months to get it done?
