Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse started out as a movie that we all loved to make fun of. Once the idea of an animated Spider-Man film was announced all those years ago, it seemed like a pathetic cash grab attempt from Sony. I mean, why would we need a theatrically-released animated Spider-Man movie when we’d be getting a live-action one around the same time? It seemed doomed to fail.
And honestly, not a lot of confidence was gained when its core premise was revealed. The idea of having different dimensions crossed, while cool, seemed destined to fall victim to over-crowding. Sony already had a huge problem balancing their villains in the standalone movies, so why should we expect this to be any different. Things have changed greatly since then, and the movie has gone on to rightfully win an Oscar for Best Animated Film, proving that first impressions are often wrong.

Now, the film is apparently even immune to Honest Trailers, a series that is more than happy to poke at the many glaring holes in any movie. From there, they basically just lay out the plot as they normally do, though with a bit less criticism than normal.
