According to new Barside Buzz Sadie Sink is NOT playing Punisher’s sidekick and we have a Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser rumor. Let’s begin with Sadie Sink who is most definitely playing… someone in Brand New Day.

Yesterday I shared some BTS images of Sink on set and I told you about online chatter. You can see it all in the related link below. However, the gist was that speculation was rising Sink could be playing Rachel-Cole Alvarez. Alvarez is a woman who got involved with Punisher in the comics.

Anyway, this was based on almost no evidence. Instead, merely matching it to a rumor that Punisher may have a female sidekick in the film. Well, now Charles Murphy of Murphy’s Multiverse claims his sources have told him this is not the case. Punisher does indeed have a woman working with him. That much is apparently true. However, Murphy has been told a black actress (unknown) is playing that part.

Here’s what Murphy writes,

‘The single shot of Sink seen above has led to theories that she will be playing Rachel Cole, a former Marine sergeant and ally of The Punisher. However, while it is accurate that Frank Castle will have someone by his side in the film, descriptions of Castle’s sidekick shared by multiple insiders have indicated the character is played by an unknown Black actress.’

‘While Rachel Cole is a fascinating character–and also a ginger–the widley-shared reports about Sink’s role call into question that she’d be playing Cole. On my end, I’ve heard that Castle’s sidekick is indeed played by a Black actress; additionally, I’ve heard from two separate sources that Sink’s character is not who she appears to be, which has led me down a rabbit hole of my own.’

This next section is speculation on Murphy’s part, not a scoop folks!

‘Opinion only, I have begun to believe that Sink could be playing Lily Hollister or a character who incorporates the important twists of Hollister into the plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’

Far as I know, Hollister leads to a ‘female temporary Goblin’ kinda deal. Murphy explains better than me, but it involves shapeshifting into a Goblin. There were rumors of a shapeshifting female villain, so who knows? I think however I’ll stop speculating on this role, until we get a genuine leaker make a claim.

Lastly, we have a very good trailer source claiming they think we could get a Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash. Also that Avengers: Doomsday, already rumored for that debut, is still attached to the film.

When it comes to #AvengersDoomsday also getting a teaser in front of #AvatarFireAndAsh, it's still possible as reported earlier this month.

I guess we will have to see if that pans out or not? One would expect a teaser for Brand New Day before Doomsday given the release dates. Though, Doomsday began filming first, and has already wrapped for a lot of stars.
