With Hispanic Heritage Month coming to a close, LRM Online wants to celebrate the month with one of Star Trek’s Hispanic characters Erica Ortegas, played by Melissa Navia.
With season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds wrapped filming and into post-production, Navia jumped on with LRM Online’s Gig Patta to give us a preview for the upcoming season.
Here is the official synopsis:
Star trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The all-new series will feature fan favorites from season two of Star Trek: Discovery, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with Melissa Navia again this year. This time around, she previewed on what to expect for season two.
Melissa Navia made her mark in 2013 after winning the best actress award at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival in the sci-fi movie The Paragon Cortex. In 2015, she had a recurring role in the television series Common Charges. She had a guest role as Elena Gabriel in the Showtime series Billions. In 2018, she had a recurring role as Moana in AMC’s series Dietland. Also, she appeared in Homeland, The Chosen, New Amsterdam, and Bull.
A specific release date for season two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has not yet been released. However, Paramount+ released a clip preview of season two with Melissa Navia that can be seen below this interview.
