Today’s Star Wars rumors including a Kathleen Kennedy end date, New Jedi Order era plans and some news that Gina Carano has settled her legal dispute with Disney. Let’s start with the rumors. The first one comes from Jeff Sneider on this weeks The Hot Mic with co-host John Rocha. Click the link to see for yourself.
Sneider says around 01:39:00 onwards that he expects Kennedy to leave Lucasfilm as president this January.
We know Kennedy is leaving, but no timeline had ever been set. Sneider has been pretty accurate with his Star Wars news and Kennedy news, so I’m inclined to trust this.
Second rumor we have today came from Daniel RPK on Patreon. Daniel says the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directed Rey sequel will be the start of a new storytelling method for Lucasfilm on film. He says like the MandoVerse on TV to film, there will be multiple stories being told across films. Presumably resulting in an Avengers: Endgame style climax.
Interesting that he says this era begins with the Rey Sequel and not the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter. Starfighter is set 5 years post-The Rise of Skywalker. However, the Rey sequel is reportedly 15 years post-TROS. That gives us a 10 year gap and may indicate Starfighter is just a standalone.

Finally, some news. It seems Disney and Gina Carano have settled with one another over Carano’s firing over comments made online.
As per Variety,
‘Lucasfilm and the Walt Disney Company have reached a mutual agreement in their legal dispute with Gina Carano following her firing from “The Mandalorian.”’
‘A Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement provided to Variety, “The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.”’
Yeah, I don’t think we’ll actually see Carano back in Star Wars again, but who knows?
What do you think of the Gina Carano news alongside todays rumors for Star Wars? As always, leave any thoughts below.
