The highly attented D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event were treated to the first trailer for “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” a new live-action series set to premiere on Disney+ on December 3, 2024. The event welcomed Hollywood star Jude Law, who will play a pivotal role in the series.
“Skeleton Crew” tells the story of four children who stumble upon a mysterious discovery on their home planet, which they once believed to be safe. Their adventure quickly escalates as they find themselves lost in an unfamiliar and perilous galaxy. Along the way, they encounter a host of new characters, including the enigmatic Jod Na Nawood, portrayed by Law. As they search for a way back home, the kids face challenges that are far beyond their wildest imaginations, forming alliances and rivalries that will shape their journey.

The series features a cast alongside Jude Law, including Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost. The episodes are directed by a stellar lineup of filmmakers, including Jon Watts, David Lowery, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.
With a production team of heavyweights like Christopher Ford, Jon Watts, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson as executive producers, “Skeleton Crew” looks to be an interesting addition to the Star Wars universe.
The first two episodes of “Skeleton Crew” begin streaming on December 3, exclusively on Disney+.
