Ok so let’s start with a few things, yes, I am aware that almost the entire plot of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker has been leaked. Yes, I believe that the vast majority of reports confirming the same things makes it genuine, finally, no, we are not going to discuss it because it goes too far into spoilers for me.

That being said, here is a new rumor from a familiar source that I think is both accurate enough to share and doesn’t spoil something massive from the movie. It is still a spoiler and as such, decide for yourself how to proceed.

The latest report from MSW goes some way to confirming much of the leaks that have been posted by both them and other sites. However, they also claim they now know what the opening scene of the movie is. They say that the post scrawl opening scene will see (possibly after a space shot) two Jedi wearing training helmets with visors training on a planet together. When these helmets are eventually removed we see that this is a flashback to a post-Return of the Jedi Luke and Leia training.

Now there is more I could say about where this scene becomes important, but I am not going into detail about that right now. For the time being let’s discuss the fact that this would be a very different opening to any other Star Wars movie. All Skywalker Saga movies have so far started immediately from what is referenced in the opening crawl, with the bad guys in the OT and the good guys in the PT. We don’t know what’s in that opening crawl of course, but it seems unlikely it discusses the distant past?
