Strange New Worlds is the latest new series in the Star Trek franchise. Becoming the fourth Star Trek show exclusive to Paramount+, Viacom is betting a lot on Trek, and I couldn’t be happier.
For those not in the know, in a way, Strange New Worlds is a spinoff of Star Trek: Discovery. Or rather, Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery served as a sort of back door pilot of this direct prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series.

The show centers on the characters from the original, pre-Shatner pilot of TOS. It follows the prime universe version of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), Spock (Ethan Peck), and Number One (Rebecca Romijn). As the core crew of the USS Enterprise, we’ll see their adventures in the years leading up to one James T. Kirk taking command of the classic starship.
