Some big casting news today as it’s being reported that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is playing a major role in Spider-Man 4 alongside Tom Holland. Deadline is reporting Sink will make her MCU debut in the Spider-Man sequel coming from director Destin Daniel Cretton. As per the trade,
‘With production set to start later this year on the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise, series star Tom Holland looks to have found a new co-star — one who is no “stranger” to popular IP. Sources tell Deadline that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to join the sequel from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. Holland is already set to return as Peter Parker.’
‘Marvel and Sony had no comment.’
The question is, who is Sink playing. The young actor was recently rumored to be a contender for Jean Grey in the X-Men Reboot. But Deadline don’t seem to know if that is the case. Other prominent red head Marvel ladies are possible. A new Mary Jane, or even Firestar could be contenders. However, my guess is that Holland would want Zendaya, his real life fiancé, as his MJ going forward.

‘As for who Sink will be playing, the prevailing theory is she’ll be introduced as X-Men character Jean Grey, but don’t count out the idea that she shows up as another beloved redheaded Spider-Man character. What is known is that the role will be a significant one given how the most recent film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, concluded with Parker making the decision to complete Doctor Strange’s spell that erases his identity from the world.’
We had heard Spider-Man 4 was finally getting it’s script ready. Rumors said a new supporting cast was in order. I guess all that remains to be seen is who Sink is playing? We’ve also heard rumors that Spider-Man 4 is a direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday. With Secret Wars supposedly a sequel to both. Therefore, Jean Grey is not as crazy an option as once may have seemed.
