2016’s Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer was a very interesting movie. DC fans got to see one of the most ruthless hit squads operating come to life on the big screen. Many of the squad members made their screen debut in the swashbuckling corrupt A-Team knock-off. The often-maligned movie seemed more like a work in progress, but it did give some wild interpretations of some of Batman’s rouges. Amongst them was Killer Croc.
The character’s interpretation certainly verged away from his standard comic book or animated series portrayal. Instead of the hardened reptile like Waylon Jones, we got a BET-loving powerhouse who played it safe most of the time in a movie where the obvious star was Will Smith’s Deadshot.

Fans of Killer Croc’s portrayal may be disappointed to learn that he will not be part of director James Gunn’s revamped squad when the film blasts into theaters on August 6, 2021. In fact, it doesn’t sound like he’d be interested in going back to the character again period. In an interview with Yahoo, the veteran actor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who might be best remembered for his roles in HBO’s OZ as Simon Adebisi and in ABC’s Lost where he played Mr. Eko, commented:
“I don’t think I need to [do it again], to be honest. I did it, I enjoyed it, it bought me a Bentley and I will keep moving on,” he said.
So, there you have it. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is moving on. To where? That’s not known at the moment. What we do know is he’ll likely be arriving like a proper gent when he whips up in that Bentley.
