Daredevil is about to enter an entirely new era. This April, the powerhouse creative team of Charles Soule and Steve McNiven reunite for DAREDEVIL: COLD DAY IN HELL, a gripping three-issue limited series that promises to reshape the legacy of the Man Without Fear.
With a creative pedigree that speaks for itself—Soule’s acclaimed 2015 Daredevil run and McNiven’s unforgettable work on Old Man Logan—this new saga transports Matt Murdock into a grim, unforgiving future. No longer the high-flying hero of Hell’s Kitchen, Murdock is older, weathered, and shockingly powerless. Still determined to fight for justice, he operates in the shadows until an unexpected event restores his heightened senses, thrusting him back into action as Daredevil.
Fans eager for a glimpse into this bold new direction can feast their eyes on the series’ stunning covers, including the primary covers for all three issues and five dynamic variant covers for the debut issue. Among the standout pieces is a special contribution by legendary Daredevil artist Frank Miller, adding a nostalgic yet cutting-edge element to the series’ visual storytelling.

Speaking with IGN, Soule described the book as an immersive, highly collaborative project. “This book was extremely collaborative in a way that was a bit of an experiment for us, a back and forth discussion as scripts and inks and dialogue and colors came in throughout, and I think people are going to see that on the page,” he shared. “Steve called it ‘jazz’ at one point, and I don’t think that’s so far off. I’m really proud of all the work I’ve done with Steve, but this one really stands out.”
McNiven echoed the sentiment, highlighting the series’ ambition and creative synergy. “This is definitely a story that fits in with all of the other things Charles and I have collaborated on over the years, and is probably the most ambitious,” he said. “A unique type of work that could only happen after years of working together and trusting each other’s abilities.”
Marvel fans won’t want to miss this landmark series. DAREDEVIL: COLD DAY IN HELL #1 is available for preorder now at local comic shops.. Stay up to date on all things Daredevil at Marvel.com!
