Stalking has gotten a bit more sophisticated nowadays.
With technology improving, stalking has become more accessible through social media, phones, and e-mails. And possibly perhaps through one’s home security system and appliances as everything is not connected to the Internet, as one woman learns in The Admirer.
The thriller stars Roxanne McKee (Strike Back, Game of Thrones), Richard Fleeshman (The Ark, Call the Midwife), and Tina Casciani (Jane the Virgin, Pandora).
Here is the official synopsis:
A year after her fiancé’s death, Nancy (McKee) is trying to move forward with her life. But when her smart house and social media are hacked, Nancy’s mind goes into overdrive. She witnessed her fiancé’s murder, and now she believes the culprit has returned. When more lives are taken and the killer closes in on her, it’s up to Nancy to stop her deadly secret admirer.
Martin Makariev (In The Heart of the Machine) directed the film from the script co-written by Chris Philip (Departure, Pandora) and Rolfe Kanefsky.

This independent thriller has a dependable director, Makariev, who had his last film, In the Heart of the Machine, submitted for the 2023 Academy Awards Best International Feature Film from Bulgaria. Seemingly, the trailer shows the film as a straight-up stalker-killer film, but maybe it has a surprise.
The Admirer streams tomorrow and is available on all VOD platforms.
