Here we go again! Another day, another report regarding Ben Affleck as Batman. The man has donned the cowl on three separate occasions since 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the instant that film hit theaters, he seemed to regret it. The film didn’t do very well, and he seemed to want to distance himself from the future films of the franchise.
For a hot second, he was on board to develop and direct the standalone Batman film, but ever since his departure to helm, his overall involvement as the Caped Crusader has been questioned, with many assuming he was done after Justice League. Now, according to a source from Hollywood Life, that may not be the case:
“He is back in shape not only for his health but he has a new-found love on doing Batman at least one more time again. He feels he isn’t finished with what he wants to do with the character. There has been talk about replacing him, but he is now seeing what he might lose and really wants to play the character again. Especially seeing what Joaquin Phoenix is doing with the Joker character.”

So if there’s one good thing that comes from the Joker film, it looks like the return of Affleck may indeed be it. No doubt, the DCEU has had a rocky road on the big screen, but assuming they really focus on making these movies character-driven, we could very well see a resurgence that makes Affleck want to stick around for as long as humanly possible. Personally, I think the match-up between him and director Matt Reeves is perfect and would love to see them work together for the upcoming feature.
