The Best Man | Shane Dax Taylor on Directing as Homage to Old Action Popcorn Flicks

Dolph Lungren in The Best Man

The 80s and 90s action flicks are certainly a guilty pleasure in the vein of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and Steven Seagal.

These skilled military heroes can take on a slew of mercenaries with cunning shoot-em-up and hand-to-hand combats. In The Best Man, a group of retired ex-soldiers must battle a group of evil mercenaries after they crash a wedding at a casino.

The film stars Brendan Fehr (Roswell, Final Destination), Nicky Whelan (Hall Pass, Knight of Cups), Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween, The Runaways), Scott Martin (Big Kill, Don’t Kill It) with Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Masters of the Universe) and Luke Wilson (Old School, The Royal Tenenbaums). Shane Dax Taylor wrote and directed the movie.

Here is the official synopsis:

Luke Wilson and Dolph Lundgren star in this pulse-pounding, action-packed thriller. When a team of ruthless mercenaries violently seize control of a remote resort hotel, former Special Ops soldiers attending their best friend’s wedding must rely on their wits and training to combat the terrorists and save the hostages held for ransom.
