The Comics Stash | Books Worth Reading The Month Of April 2021

Comic Books

Welcome to The Comic Stash where I go over comic publisher’s title being released for the month, and pick ones from them that need to be read and added to your collection.  I love reading comics because for me it is a way to just relax and enjoy the artwork and writing from many talented people from across the world.  Reading, listen to music, or watching movies or shows is a great way to just decompress from a busy life.  Last month I mentioned getting a copy of a new book called Eniac #1 from Bad Ide Comics.  That book is what I like to call the “Hot Potato”, they sold out their first issue from this new company.  The second prints are going for a good cost as well, if you have one in your collection a great add.  If not it will cost $100 for a first print starting, just remember the first print will have the title in white not black that’s the second print.  But a second print only goes for $20, so that’s not bad considering the cover price is only $3.99 at the time.  They kind of underestimated how well the first book was going to go as well that they only had selected comic shops that could sell their books.

Now let’s start with Marvel Comics releases for April, Blackcat #5 starts a new story arc written by Jed MacKay with art by Michael Dowling.  Worth reading to see what she is up to after she completed a long task of collecting stolen items.  Children of the Atom #2 is written by Vita Ayala and art by Bernard Chang.   Daredevil #29 still continues with Electra wearing the mantle of Daredevil, and this has been a fun story written by Chip Zdarsky and art by Marco Checcetto.  Maestro: War and Pax #4 is written by Peter David and art by Javier Pina and German Paralta. The story lets the reader see how the Incredible Hulk becomes such a dark figure in the future.  If you enjoyed the first series, this one is not as great but worth picking up to see the evolution of Maestro.  New mini-series called Spider-Man: Spider Shadow #1 is released this month, with a story of what if Peter became Venom.  This will be a fun read and look forward to the art by Pasqual Ferry, as well as the story by Chip Zdarsky.

Comics

Other titles coming out this month from Marvel are Non-Stop Spider-Man #2, written by Joe Kelly, and art by Chris Bachalo.  Alien #2 written by Phillip Johnson and art by Salvador Larroca.  Black Knight: Curse of the Ebony Blade #2 written by Simon Spurrier with art by Sergio Davila.  Carnage Black, White, and Blood #2 written by Chip Zdarsky, art by Donny Cates and Ram V.  The Mighty Valkyries #1 written by Jason Aaron and Torunn, with art by Erica D’Urso.  The Trials of Ultraman #2 written by Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom with art by Franceso Manna.  Way of X #1 written by Si Spurrier and art by Bob Quinn.  Silk #2 written by Maurene Goo and art by Takeshi Miyazawa.  X-Men Legends #3 written by Louise Simonson and art by Walter Simonson.  SWORD #5 written by Al Ewing and art by Valerio Schiti.
