After the premiere season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Prime Video is set to expand its universe with an expanded cast of recurring characters. In an announcement, the streaming service announced three acclaimed actors, Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie, joining the cast, which production is already underway in the United Kingdom.
The announcement is mum on their roles for season two of the successful and anticipated series. The streaming service admitted they would play recurring roles in the storyline.

All three performers have been accomplished actors in their own right.
Ciarán Hinds was most recently recognized as the Oscar and BAFTA nominee for performing as Pop in Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast. For specific audiences, he is easily recognizable in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and voicing Grand Pabble the Troll King in Frozen and Frozen II. His other credits included There Will Be Blood, Road to Perdition, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and The Phantom of the Opera.
Rory Kinnear is best known as Bill Tanner in the James Bond films Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. Recently, he starred in Alex Garland’s Men, which made its premiere at Cannes Film Festival. His other credits included No. 9, Penny Dreadful, and Black Mirror.
Tanya Moodie won the Royal Television Society’s Breakthrough Award as Meg in the comedy Motherland. Her recent film roles included J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode IV – The Rise of Skywalker as General Parnadee and Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light as Delia. On the television side, she appeared in the miniseries adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere, A Discovery of Witches, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and Sherlock.

The first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power garnered success with more than 100 million viewers worldwide and 24 billion minutes streamed. It marked the biggest premiere weekend of Prime Video’s history.
The plot for season two is under secrecy at the moment. More likely, it’ll be the preparation for war with the humans, elves, and dwarves since the identity of Sauron has been revealed.
The entire season one, with eight episodes, can now be streamed on Prime Video today.
