Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 may feature the supervillain The Spot facing off against Mile Morales. And whatever other Spider-Men or Spider-Women (or Spider-Pigs) appear in the film. The rumor comes from Murphy’s Multiverse.
Being an animated franchise, Into the Spider-Verse 2 is really the only place for such an odd villain as The Spot. Then again, James Gunn found room for a similarly ridiculous villain in The Suicide Squad; Polka Dot Man!

Here’s the rundown on The Spot, a very strange Spider-Man villain indeed:
The Spot’s abilities include accessing and manipulating portals in any space. Fitting the style of a drawn comic or an animated film, these portals appear as black spots, hence the name. Usually The Spot utilizes this power to have his foes punch themselves in the face, as seen in the cover photo. However, his powers have been used for more sinister plots than “stop punching yourself” opportunities.
In several of these cases, The Spot’s powers are hijacked by far more dangerous criminals to cause even more mayhem to the heroes he fights most: Daredevil and Spider-Man.
Seeing how well the first Into The Spider-Verse juggled different villains, I’d expect The Spot to be used by someone far for threatening to whatever number of Spider-Men get see in the film.
Murphy’s Multiverse warns us to take their source’s report with a grain of salt. As is tradition.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 is currently slated to release October 7, 2022.
