San Diego Comic-Con attendees were in for a chilling surprise during this year’s panel for The Strangers Chapter 2, held in the iconic Ballroom 20. The panel delivered spine tingling energy as fans got a deeper look into the terrifying next chapter of the cult horror franchise that has left audiences sleeping with the lights on for over a decade.

Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale), who returns to the screen as Maya, the lone survivor of the first film, joined acclaimed action horror director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, Exorcist: The Beginning) and producer Courtney Solomon (After) for the panel, which was moderated by Collider’s Perri Nemiroff. Together, they unpacked the intensity and raw fear that drives Chapter 2 as The Strangers return for unfinished business.
Adding to the eerie hype, The Strangers didn’t limit their terror to just the convention center. In a horror themed marketing stunt, the film’s three masked killers embarked on a Strangers Roadtrip, traveling from Oregon to San Diego in the franchise’s red and white truck. Along the way, the masked trio made “caught on camera” appearances in various towns, spooking locals and popping up in cryptic viral posts across social media.
