Steven Spielberg has made moviegoers watch the skies for decades. After a string of biopics, as well as a slight detour into sci-fi with Ready Player One, the legendary filmmaker returns to a subject he excels at with Disclosure Day.
The latest UFO-centric movie from the director of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial has just released its teaser trailer and announced the title after over a year of secrecy surrounding the project. Based on the opening shots of Emily Blunt’s TV meteorologist entering a hypnotic trance and speaking an otherworldly language, Disclosure Day appears to be a slightly darker take on Spielberg’s 1977 blockbuster, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Have a look at the official synopsis:
“If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.”

Additionally, Spielberg’s frequent collaborator John Williams once again takes on the reins as composer. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters and IMAX screens on June 12, 2026.
