Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy ended very strangely and this family just can’t catch a break. Just when the Hargreeves think they can breathe a sigh of relief, they come back from the future with their father and brother alive, but it’s not them. This is the Sparrow Academy and it’s just more weirdness these siblings will have to deal with. Netflix shared on their site an announcement video. Season 3 will be here in 2022 and will be from Gerard Way’s third volume of the comic book series, The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion.
In an interview with Digital Spy, The Umbrella Academy showrunner, Steve Blackman said:
[The Umbrella Academy] should be able to relax now. But something’s not quite right as they’ve come back. Not only are these people saying they’re the Sparrow Academy, but [Reginald] Hargreeves is still alive – and he shouldn’t be, either.

Tom Hopper who stars as Luther, shared with Collider:
I think it’s a great setup for Season 3. I thought that the show really found a groove. I think what was so great about Season 2 is that we’d set up the world in Season 1, and I really feel that Season 1 was almost like a setup for the rest of the show. You’re not trying to figure out what this world is anymore, you know who these characters are, you know where they’re at in their lives. And, then we can really get things going. And I think towards the end of Season 2, you really start to just see what the show is, and it’s a great setup for what’s going to happen in [Season] 3.
Check out seasons 1 and 2 of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Also, I’ll be keeping an eye out for the official release date and any teasers and trailers Netflix releases.
