According to the latest fantasy Barside Buzz The Wheel of Time Season 3 could release much sooner than expected. So far, there was a two year gap (slightly more) between Season 1 and Season 2 of the show. Most in the industry, and fans just assumed we’d get Season 3 around Fall/Winter of next year. However, a new report from WoT Up! says they’ve heard from sources that the show could be ready to drop as early as April/May. Specifically the host was told to plan time off for Season 3 around that time by his source.
One of the biggest criticisms from fans over the current schedule of these big fantasy streaming shows in the length of time between Seasons. Not only does this have the chance of losing the more casual audience, it also simply takes more years to get through the seasons and actors start to get itchy feet. Yet, outside of reducing the quality, can House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, or Wheel of Time manage to reduce these times in anyway?
Perhaps if WoT can get down to a system of every 1.5 years it can help with some of these issues. Wheel of Time is of course the potentially largest of these shows because it needs at least eight seasons to finish the story. Rings of Power is expected to have five seasons (if it doesn’t get canned), and we know House of the Dragon has four in total and only therefore two left.

I’ve already discussed previously how The Rings of Power is currently not as successful as Wheel of Time despite getting more viewers. When you analyse the budgets for these shows Wheel of Time comes out the cheapest and most successful based on cost. Next up is House of the Dragon which is far more watched than any of the others but is far more costly in terms of budget and marketing compared to WoT. Rings if Power is second on the watched list, however it is by far the most expensive in terms of both budget and marketing costs.
Therefore, it would also be good news if Wheel of Time has managed to reduce the turnaround itself going forward. Look, this is a rumor, there is no official word on when Season 3 will premiere. However, this source is usually extremely accurate. Therefore I have a feeling it will be ready to go and possibly up to Amazon to decide when it premieres. We have heard Amazon will wait for Season 3 figures to decide whether to greenlight Season 4. Therefore, if they don’t release it when it’s ready then the producers cannot start work on Season 4.
