Mark your calendars, folks. We have one more week until The Witcher hits Netflix. While it’d be disingenuous to say this is the streamer’s answer to Game of Thrones given how different they are from one another…this is still Netflix’s answer to Game of Thrones in terms of overall fantasy. It’s their big-ticket series that will help shepherd in the new era of TV and streaming fantasy.
Lauren S. Hissrich, who acts as showrunner on the series, has been a pretty open book with her comments and overall enthusiasm of the show. In a new video from Netflix, we see her converse with The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski.

There is nothing incredibly revolutionary here, but it was cool to see Sapkowski’s reaction to joining the set of the show, especially since he admits to never having been on a set before. Another great moment is that Sapkowski says he isn’t scared about any one thing being brought to the small screen, and says it does no good to judge the soup based on the ingredients.
