Some fantasy Barside Buzz for you today as The Witcher Season 4 and the rumored Rats spin-off villain may have been revealed and the role will played by Sharlto Copley. The rumor comes from the very reliable Redanian Intelligence. Whilst they have solid news on Copley’s casting, they don’t have confirmation of who he is playing. They do have theories though, which I’m guessing are not far off the mark. After all, The Witcher franchise is an adaptation, so there are certain characters that are likely or unlikely to show up.

As you already know, The Witcher Season 4 will see Liam Hemsworth take over the role from Henry Cavill. I know most fans are bummed about that, but until Season 4 gets promoted, who can say? However there has also been a rumor from this source that Netflix is also filming a prequel spin-off show called Rats. Book readers will know who the Rats are, for those non-book readers, I reckon your going to find out about them in the second half of Season 3, still to air.

Ciri has already met the Rats for the first time in Season 3 part 1. Though, it has not really gone anywhere, yet. They are a band of criminals, predominantly kids/YA. However, the prequel is also rumored to feature a rogue Witcher, which RI says will be played by Dolph Lundgren.

“Six teenage thieves must rely on their criminal skills as they plan the biggest heist of their careers against the most dangerous crime ring in the kingdom.”

Sharlto Copley Cast As Leo Bonhart?

‘We have learned that South African actor Sharlto Copley has been cast in The Witcher franchise. We don’t have a solid confirmation on his role, but we have reasons to believe he could very well be Leo Bonhart, one of the most vicious villains of the entire saga.’

‘As far as we know, Copley was cast both in The Rats prequel that just finished filming in South Africa, and also Season 4 of The Witcher, which makes us think Leo Bonhart.’

‘What’s curious about Bonhart’s involvement in The Rats prequel is that he’s known to be obsessed with witchers and he has a collection of witcher medallions, from the witchers he has killed. Enter Dolph Lundgren as the rogue witcher of the Cat School called Brehen that has a major role in The Rats.’

‘Now, the following isn’t something that we know for certain, but it would be logical to assume that the next medallion in Bonhart’s collection would be Brehen’s and we may likely see how he gets it in The Rats.’
