Promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, star Tom Holland talks about future plans for Spider-Man and an eventual passing of the torch. Holland had a lengthy conversation with Josh Horowitz on the latest Happy Sad Confused podcast. Check out the video for yourself below if you want to see the full thing. Holland talks about how things feel differently at this point of his career, how it’s amazing how so much of his life has been connected to this role and much more.
Holland also talks about the future of Spider-Man post-Brand New Day. Whilst it’s never ben confirmed it seems a sure bet Holland’s next appearance will be in Secret Wars. The actor claims to know absolutley nothing about what that entails, despite recently holidaying with Joe Russo. Which, honestly makes sense given what the story is from other actors, i.e. there’s no script yet.
Holland also talks about the many varied Spider-Man suits he’s worn and his favourites from previous incarnations. One suit he’d love to see how they can do differently from Tobey’s film or the animated films is the black symbiote suit. IF he ever gets to see that in his run.

And on his own future Holland says it’s exciting to sit in meetings planning the trajectory of his Spider-Man journey into the future. He gets that many things will change before they get there, but it’s still exciting for him.
“There’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Holland said on the podcast. “It’s laid out. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting.”
So it seems like the eventual end point for Holland may be passing that torch to Miles Morales given what he has said prior. Still, it could be a while before we get there I think.
