Miranda Nation brings another highly emotional thriller starring Laura Gordon, in Undertow.
The Synopsis
UNDERTOW is the story of two women whose lives become dangerously enmeshed. Grieving the loss of her stillborn baby, Claire (Laura Gordon, “Secret City”) meets pregnant teenager Angie (Olivia DeJorge, “The Visit”). Feisty and irrepressible, Angie challenges Claire’s careful control. Drawn into Angie’s world, Claire develops a dangerous obsession that risks both of their lives. Only when Claire is confronted with the terrible secret behind Angie’s pregnancy can both women begin to heal.
Miranda Nation started her career as an actress before becoming a filmmaker and was seen in 2006 Macbeth. In 2008 she made her directorial debut with Trampoline. Gordon became an award winner with Perception. She is known for her storytelling style while covering diverse subjects.

Laura Gordon is a Australian actress. She is known for films like Saw V and Face to Face. Gordon has made several television appearances like Syfy’s Hunters and Secret City available on Netflix. Last year she was seen in Halifax: Retribution and AussieWood.
I had the opportunity to connect with Miranda Nation and Laura Gordon via Zoom to discuss Undertow. Nation shared what inspired her to write this story and how she knew Gordon was the one to play Claire. Gordon expressed what attracted her to be part of this film and the scene she found challenging. They both discussed filming in Australia and the underwater scenes.
