The untitled Marvel movie in 2027 has been cancelled and replaced by a second Simpsons Movie in Disney’s slate. This Marvel movie seemed to not exist and we discussed it not long ago. If you remember, there was some speculation it could be used for a third, secret Avengers movie.
Well, we can rule that out. As per Variety,
‘A sequel to “The Simpsons Movie” is officially in the works at Disney’s 20th Century and slated to release in theaters on July 23, 2027. The film has taken the place of an untitled Marvel project, which has been removed from the studio’s schedule. In terms of Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, there will no longer be a new comic book installment between “Avengers: Doomsday” on Dec. 18, 2026 and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on Dec. 17, 2027.’
Here’s the announcement about the new Simpsons Movie, which remains untitled for now far as I can tell.

I’m long past being excited for anything related to The Simpsons. For me, given the strains in the actors voices these days and the lack of the original writing teams, it’s meh!
The Simpsons Movie was pretty decent, so chances are I’ll watch this, but not till it’s in Disney+.
Still, I’m not surprised this untitled Marvel film slot in 2027 was given away. There really was nothing ready to fill it. This leaves us,
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Summer 26)
Avengers: Doomsday (December 26)
Avengers: Secret Wars (December 27)
– as the only definite Marvel movies for the next 2 years. We will have TV series in that time, notably Wonder Man, Vision Quest and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Plus Born Again Season 3 should be due in 2027 between the two Avengers films. We know an X-Men reboot is in development and will probably come in 2028 and there’s Blade if it ever happens.
