Jonboy Meyers is one of my favorite artists in the comic book industry. I was very upset when he left the Teen Titans series early on during their Rebirth relaunch. This week Valiant Entertainment released the main cover for its comic book Fallen World #1 about Rai the future cyborg samurai, featuring the awesome artwork by Meyers. This cover features a re-design of the character featuring a bearded Rai with an intimidating look and not to mention that glimmering samurai sword. Check it out below!

This book would be a perfect jumping on point for comic book readers as writer for the book Dan Abnett says that “it sets up the future of the Valiant Universe moving forward. This is a whole new future world, with major storylines springing out of it, and it all starts here!” The interior artwork for the title is handled by Adam Pollina. This book is one of the four titles that are part of Valiant’s BREAKTHROUGH lineup which include The Life and Death of Toyo Harada, Punk Mambo and Killers.

Here is the synopsis for the mini-series:
A cyborg samurai named Rai struggles to find his morality in the year 4002. Can he become the inspirational figure that humanity desperately needs, or will he resort to solving his problems with a sword? A nanite-filled supersoldier named Bloodshot is also on a mission to save the citizens of Earth. Will the brutal Bloodshot and the peaceful Rai work together for the greater good?
