Venus Prime TV Series To Debut At Comic-Con

Volume Global, in partnership with Navajo Entertainment and Claxson Media, is excited to announce that the TV series adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s “Venus Prime” will be unveiled to fans at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The special panel, titled “Jonathan Frakes Unveils ‘Arthur C. Clarke’s Venus Prime’ TV Series,” is set to take place on Thursday, July 25th, from 4:45 to 5:45 PM PT in Room 6BCF at the San Diego Convention Center.

The event will feature appearances from a distinguished lineup of creators and producers, including director and executive producer Jonathan Frakes, known for his work on “Star Trek: First Contact,” “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” and “The Librarians.” Joining him are co-showrunners David Cormican (“Tokyo Trial,” “Northern Rescue,” “ShadowHunters”) and Dwayne Hill (“Northern Rescue,” “Peg + Cat,” “Mean Girls”), along with executive producers Lucas Vivo Garcia Lagos (“Franklin: Historia de un Billete,” “Pacto de Sangre,” “Psiconautas”) and Christopher Rush-Harrington (“Hostile Takeover,” “King of Killers”) of Volume Global. The panel will be moderated by Comic-Con regular, Gary Miereanu.

Fans of the acclaimed book series will be treated to an in-depth discussion about the upcoming TV series adaptation, based on the novels by sci-fi legend and Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter Sir Arthur C. Clarke (“2001: A Space Odyssey”) and author Paul Preuss, who is also rumored to attend. The panel will explore the filmmakers’ decision to utilize virtual production techniques to bring this ambitious project to life.

Additionally, the panel will include a sneak peek at the TV series logo clip, followed by an autograph signing session with the panelists and co-author Paul Preuss. Details for the autograph session will be announced later.

The “Venus Prime” series, first published nearly 35 years ago with the release of “Breaking Strain,” has captivated readers since 1987. The six-book series, which concluded in 1991, was re-issued in 2021 with new cover art by Vanessa Maynard, renewing interest in this classic sci-fi saga.

Comic-Con attendees and “Venus Prime” enthusiasts alike will not want to miss this unique opportunity to get an inside look at one of the most anticipated sci-fi adaptations of the year.
