‘Wardriver’ Races Into Theaters With A Cybercrime Thriller

The digital underworld collides with street-level danger in WARDRIVER, a new thriller set to hit theaters on March 20, followed by a Video on Demand release on March 27.

Directed by Rebecca Thomas and written by Daniel Casey, Wardriver dives deep into the shadowy world of mobile hacking, where anonymity is currency and one wrong move can be fatal. The film stars Dane DeHaan as Cole, a lone cyber drifter who prowls the city practicing “wardriving” hacking wireless networks from his car while staying constantly on the move. To Cole, it’s a victimless crime. That illusion doesn’t last.

Cole’s life spirals out of control when he’s targeted by Oscar (Mamoudou Athie), a ruthless black-market tech broker who coerces him into pulling off a million-dollar cyber heist. What begins as a high-tech job quickly escalates into something far more dangerous, exposing a mob lawyer (Jeffrey Donovan) who’s using a young woman named Sarah (Sasha Calle) to launder his criminal fortune.

As the walls close in, Wardriver blends white knuckle tension with a timely exploration of digital morality. Cole finds himself caught between violent criminals, shifting alliances, and his own conscience. With bullets flying and betrayals stacking up, he must decide whether to keep running or risk everything to return the stolen money, protect Sarah, and escape a deadly cat and mouse game where survival hinges on every line of code.

The film’s cast brings together an intriguing mix of talent, with DeHaan (Chronicle, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) anchoring the story, Sasha Calle continuing her post-Flash momentum, and strong supporting turns from Mamoudou Athie and Jeffrey Donovan.

With its grounded take on cybercrime and a gritty, urban edge, Wardriver positions itself as a modern thriller for a world increasingly shaped by technology and surveillance. Audiences can catch the film on the big screen starting March 20, before it races onto digital platforms on March 27.
