Witch Hunt | Star Gideon Adlon On What It Means To Be A Witch [Exclusive Interview]

We are full-on into Spooky Season! This past weekend was the release of Witch Hunt. This is a horror/thriller from writer and director Elle Callahan. It takes us to a different world where real witches exist. Unfortunately here in the United States, witchcraft is prohibited and is persecuted harshly. Witches’ only chance for survival is to flee the country down south to Mexico where they are able to safely be themselves.

What is very interesting is the way that Callahan uses witches to symbolize any other minority group in the USA in Witch Hunt. We have to think about the fact that in our history, the term witch has been used to accuse women who refused to live inside the societal norms. Now in modern-day its we see it used a lot more of the classic film and book concept of a woman that has supernatural abilities.
