Sebastian Stan. Aka Bucky. Aka the Winter Soldier. Aka young Mark Hamill lookalike. Call him what you will, but the man is just jazzed he made the cut in the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War.
Cinema Blend asked Stan about the Infinity War trailer, and he was very enthusiastic indeed:
“I’m glad I made the trailer! It’s wild, man. You’ve got 65 actors in that movie — it’s some of the actors I’ve grown up with and I’ve always idolized. You can’t help but pinch yourself all the time, and just be blown away by the fact that you’re surrounded by that kind of caliber of actors. It’s an epic movie by every sense of that word. That’s the only word I can honestly choose how to describe it. Every scene is epic. There is no scene that doesn’t have a cameo or some Oscar winner, or somebody who you’ve grown up with in the last 10 years of the movies that they’ve made.”
Sebastian Stan, you’ve sold me on Infinity War. No, wait, the trailer sold me… No, it was the announcement of the film and Phase 3… Fine! Iron Man sold me on all of this nearly ten years ago!
It is rare for an actor to say negative things about a trailer for their upcoming movie, but Stan’s comments go above and beyond, letting his own fanboy excitement shine through. Even though Bucky/The Winter Soldier is at this point a very well established character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with three films under his belt, it’s amusing that Stan was excited he made the cut.
