Wyatt Rockefeller is the writer and director of the new sci-fi thriller Settlers. He brings a story about survival and isolation.
The Synopsis
On a remote homestead amongst the Martian frontier, a refugee family from Earth clings to hope for a better life. But when strangers appear in the surrounding hills and attempt to run them off, nine-year-old Remmy (Brooklynn Prince, “The Florida Project”) is faced with the desperate reality her mother (Sofia Boutella, “The Mummy”) and father (Jonny Lee Miller, “Trainspotting”) have tried so hard to keep from her.
Wyatt Rockefeller found the passion to direct in his teen years. He started shooting from an Hi8 camcorder. His life went another route after graduating from Princeton. Rockefeller got involved in the presidential campaign and administration for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Groomed, The White Roses, and Entropy are a couple of short films he has worked on.

I was connected to speak with the filmmaker Wyatt Rockefeller via Zoom to talk about Settlers. He talked about what inspired him to write this story and the different issues he covers throughout the film. In addition to the cast, Steve and working with the only young actress on set.
SETTLERS will be in theaters and On-Demand July 23, 2021.
