Xbox Game Pass xCloud Upgrade Gets A Release Date
The Xbox Game Pass xCloud upgrade gets a release date! September, 15th will see this free upgrade drop to all current Game Pass subscribers. What is xCloud you ask? Project xCloud is essentially allowing Game Pass subscribers to play on more devices than the Xbox console or PC. Specifically from September, 15th subscribers can also play the games they wish on Android phones and tablets. So far, there is no mention of whether xCloud will ever come to iOS, but it seems unlikely, for now.
Project xCloud will launch initially across 22 different markets with more to follow. Check out the official social media post from Xbox below.

Microsoft said about xCloud on the Xbox website,
Today we’re excited to share more about what you can expect. Beginning September 15, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can play more than 100 games from the cloud on their Android phone or tablet. Cloud gaming will launch in beta for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 markets to ensure stability as we scale the feature to millions of gamers.
All the experiences you expect on Xbox and your gaming profile travel with you on mobile, including your friends list, achievements, controller settings, and saved game progress.

I love this idea, but for some games, I would seriously worry about things like input lag. Will it feel good to play on xCloud or not? For the moment this wouldn’t affect me as a Game Pass subscriber, as I am on iOS. Unless I switch to an Android phone next time, I won’t be able to determine for myself how well xCloud will work. I hope some deal between Apple and Microsoft can be worked out, but, what’s the chances of that? Slim between those two companies.
