Ethan Hawke is one amazing actor. In the action thriller film Zeros and Ones, it would take an actor like Hawke to pull off playing two different characters.
Here’s the synopsis of Zeros and Ones:
Ethan Hawke (Training Day) and director Abel Ferrera (Bad Lieutenant) join forces for this gritty, tense political-thriller set on one deadly night in Rome. Called to the city to stop an imminent terrorist bombing, soldier J.J. (Hawke) desperately seeks news of his imprisoned rebel brother, Justin (also Hawke), who holds the knowledge that could thwart the attack. Navigating the capital’s darkened streets, J.J. races to a series of ominous encounters, hoping to keep the Vatican from being blown to bits.
The film also stars Christina Chiriac (Siberia, Tommaso), and Valerio Mastandrea (Perfect Strangers, Ride).

The long-time director Abel Ferrara is known for his storytelling and gritty nature in his action films. The camerawork on Zeroes and Ones seems to be grittier than his usual films, so it’ll be interesting since it’s concentrated on Ethan Hawke’s performance on this one.
Nonetheless, he is a darling of film festival circuits with some folks enjoying his last film Siberia. As for Hawke, he is on a roll lately with great performances in Tesla, Cut Throat City, voicing in Netflix’s The Guilty, and the upcoming The Black Phone. He is a great character actor, so we’re looking forward to him playing very opposite twins in Zeros and Ones.
Zeros and Ones is in select theaters, Apple TV, and online rental services on November 19. It’ll follow with a Blu-ray and DVD release next year on January 4.
