A few years back, Mark Hamill made fanboy headlines by stating he was retiring from voicing The Joker. Hamill has been the voice of the legendary DC rogue in several different animated Batman projects, as well as in video games like Rocksteady’s ARKHAM series (save for ORIGINS), dating back to 1992.
Well, fans of his indelible portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime can rejoice, because he’s back. And that’s not all. He’s voicing The Joker in one of the most beloved Batman properties there is, an animated adaptation of THE KILLING JOKE. And he won’t be alone!

Yes, Kevin Conroy, who’s been the Yin to Hamill’s Yang as the voice of Batman for all of these years, will join him for this epic animated event. Here are a few Hamill’s choice tweets, wherein he revealed he’d be back to the world:

THE KILLING JOKE, by Alan Moore, has been a favorite of fans since it came out in 1988. Some of The Joker’s most notorious lines come from this book, and Hamill used a couple of them in the tweets above.
You’ve got to hand it to Hamill. With his return to the world of STAR WARS, and all of the money and renewed mainstream fame he’s getting because of it, no one would’ve blamed him if he stopped doing smaller projects like this direct-to-TV movie. Yet here he is, reprising The Joker, and he’s also returned to the live-action role of The Trickster in The CW’s THE FLASH– a role he first played in 1991.
It’s clear he loves this stuff.
Are you excited to have Hamill and Conroy back for THE KILLING JOKE?
