Fans of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” were given a treat last night. Especially if they’re favorite iteration of the show was when Jon Stewart was its host. The former host, who’s largely been away from the limelight since leaving his “Daily Show” desk, literally popped up during a live telecast of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” and then he was given an entire segment in what felt like an overdo pop culture moment: Stewart Responds To The Rise of Donald Trump.
And what prompted this celebratory moment? For years, Stewart and Colbert have railed against Fox News and theirCEO Roger Ailes. Well, amidst a sex scandal, Ailes has suddenly resigned from Fox and it looks like the two political satirists simply had to have a “Ding Dong The Wicked Witch Is Dead!” moment together.
You can view the entire segment below. It includes several nods to Stewart’s “Daily Show” run, including little moments like his signature scribbles on blue sheets of show notes, a recurring gag where he insults Arby’s, and a video dissection of how Fox host Sean Hannity is tripping over himself with apparent contradictions.

No matter your politics, this was a cool bit of entertainment for longtime fans of “The Daily Show” and a nice way to revisit the Stewart years.
