‘Creed’ Sequel Aiming for November 2017 Release Date

Adonis Johnson is itching to be back in the ring.

Variety is reporting “Creed 2” is looking at a November 2017 release date. That’s plenty of training time for Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan and hopefully—Carl Weathers.

Stallone has been bouncingsome ideas with Ryan Coogler for the plot for the sequel. Coogler just signed on to direct “Black Panther” recently, so it means he’ll be an executive producer for “Creed 2” due to scheduling.

As reported recently, Stallone has a desire to bring Weathers into this franchise as Apollo Creed by setting a plot line in the past similar to “The Godfather 2.” A more likely scenario is Adonis Johnson battling a bigger and tougher opponent.

Stallone just won a Golden Globe this past weekend for his role in “Creed.”
