Vincent D’Onofrio has officially begun work on Season 3 of the Marve/Netflix series Daredevil, as the actor revealed via Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Take a look at the tweet below:

Of course, D’Onofrio will be returning as Wilson Fisk (aka Kingpin), one of Daredevil’s main baddies. While Marvel Studios has a chronic villain problem, D’Onofrio’s portrayal of Kingpin is one of the greats, and still remains as one of the stronger villains in the Marvel/Netflix world (rivaled only by Jessica Jones’ Kilgrave).

When last we saw Fisk, he was living it up as the “kingpin” of prison, and he had all but figured out the Matt Murdock was the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. With that in mind, and with the ending of The Defenders, it’s believed that Daredevil Season 3 will play out the iconic Born Again storyline.

In that story, Karen Page gives up Daredevil’s identity, and Wilson Fisk proceeds to freeze Matt Murdock’s assets and burn down his home. It’s pretty much a story of Murdock’s life getting demolished, and calls for him to rise up and take on Kingpin once more (Now that I think about it, it bears a striking resemblance to Iron Man 3, doesn’t it?).

Production has yet to begin on Daredevil Season 3, but this read-through is the first of many steps required to see this series come to fruition next year.

  • Can’t wait. Wilson Fisk is the best villain in the MCU (Loki is arguably a hero now).

  • Smerdyakov

Although Kingpin is the best, I have to say that Madame Gao was pretty fucking awesome.
