Another day, another Marvel Studios project moves forward.
It was announced some time ago that Marvel Studios was getting set to launch another project that’s going to take place within its shared Marvel Cinematic Universe: Cloak and Dagger.
Since then, there hasn’t been too much to report. Until the last 36 hours…
According to the MCU Exchange, they’ve got it on good authority from a source of theirs that Marvel has found the two lead actors for the project. According to them, relative unknowns Noah Gray-Cabey and Debby Ryan have been tapped to play Tyrone “Ty” Johnson and Tandy Bowen in Cloak and Dagger, which is set to run on ABC’s Freeform network.
Sometimes we look to social media activity to see if there’s anything that lends credibility to a rumor like this, and what’s notable here is that Gray-Cabey did recently start getting followed on Twitter by Cloak and Dagger‘s showrunner, Joe Pokaski. Ryan, for her part, also happened to start following the Cloak and Dagger characters on Twitter. So there’s that, which seems to add some weight to what MCU Exchange’s sources are saying.
This comes a day after it was revealed that Marvel has also hired The Secret Life of Bees director Gina Prince-Bythewood to direct the Cloak and Dagger pilot.
Production for Cloak and Dagger is set to begin next month.
