Live-Action ‘X-Men’ TV Series in the Works

More comic book-based television shows are coming.

Certain sources told The Hollywood Reporter that preliminary conversations have begun to bring the X-Men to the small screen as a live-action television series with “24” producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto.

The series is currently penned by “Star Trek 3” writing partners Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne. They will also serve as the series’ initial showrunners.

20th Century Fox owns the rights to the film franchise, but bringing the mutants towards television may be something entirely different issue. THR mentioned that Marvel, who owns the comic rights, will still have to sign off on the deal. With ABC’s shows “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Agent Carter” already on television—we’ll wait and see on what Disney wants to do at this point.
