Game of Thrones fans, anxious for a glimpse at the upcoming 4th season, have been thrown a bone! This weekend, the HBO production released “Game of Thrones Season 4: Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing,” a 14:30 long preview video.

In it, we get to hear the cast and crew reflect on last season’s infamous Red Weddingand how the show will, in Peter Dinklage’s words, “Pick up the pieces and top it- in a lot of ways.” The video is filled with all kinds of exciting clips and glimpses into what’s to come.

I think this season looks nothing short of epic, and it’s the returning show I’m most excited for. But don’t take my word for it. Check it out:

As you’ve likely heard by now, THR broke the news that Southland and The O.C. alum Ben McKenzie has nabbed the part of Detective James Gordon in Fox’s upcoming TV series, Gotham. The casting makes sense since the show runner of the DC Comics adaptation recently had McKenzie in the lead role of last year’s passed-over TV drama Advocates for CBS. The show runner, Bruce Heller, clearly sees something special in McKenzie.

To date, McKenzie’s greatest critical triumph was the adored, but under-watched, Southland. The gritty cop drama got the axe from NBC after one season, then was revived by TNT, only to get cancelled four seasons later after continuing to struggle to find an audience (maybe they should’ve knocked on Netflix’s door?).

The casting comes on the heels of rumors that Oswald Cobblepott- aka The Penguin- would be one of Batman’s classic rogues to appear in Gotham, with the future Commissioner Gordon tangling with him long before the Dark Knight emerges. It should also be noted, again, that Gotham will have nothing to do with DC’s other buzzworthy TV adaptations- Arrow and The Flash– which are currently lighting fanboys hearts aflame over on The CW Network.

This won’t be McKenzie’s first foray into Batman’s world, having voiced Bruce Wayne himself in DC’s animated Batman: Year One movie.
