American Horror Story is a series that’s incredibly fun to follow on a year-by-year basis. Each year is given its own theme, and each year it has its own set of recycled and new cast members that make up the core group that is set to be terrorized. Last year’s theme was the super meta Roanoke, which saw half of the season play out like an Unsolved Mysteries-esque program, and the second half play out like a trashy reality TV show.

This season will be utilizing last year’s U.S. election as a backdrop, though we will only see candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton through news clips. Based on what little we know, the actual plot seems to revolve around a cult of clowns. At this point it’s unclear how the them “cult” ties into the election aspect of the season, but it’ll be interesting to see how they make the connection.

TVLine has revealed another first look at this season with a batch of character posters. Check them out below!

Adorning the posters are actors Cheyenne Jackson, Colton Haynes, Alison Pill, Billy Eichner, and Billie Lourd. As revealed by the image, Jackson will be playing Dr. Rudy Vincent, who looks to be a psychologist of sorts; Lourd will be playing Winter Anderson; Haynes will be playing Detective Samuels; Eichner will be playing Harrison Wilton; and Pill will be playing (butcher?) Ivy Mayfair Richards. Each photo is haunting and creepy in its own way, and every pic has a clown lurking in the background.

Per the typical American Horror Story style, these images give off a moody atmosphere, all while revealing very little of what’s to come. We’re interested to see what comes of this upcoming season as we learn more.
