Looks like there is another comic book publisher looking to get into theaters, Valiant Entertainment. Since their re-launch in 2012 they have done a fantastic job at bringing back classic Valiant characters like Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Ninjak and others. With their web series Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe ready to hit the web later this year, it looks like they are finally ready to take the next step and star to work on a full feature film. Rumors have already been going around that Jared Leto is in talks to star in Valiant’s Bloodshot film, now we get word about another possible Valiant character they are working on bringing to the big screen.
Via his Twitter account, Dave Bautista answering a fan question regarding his “Eternal Warrior project” responded by saying:
“Glad you asked cuz I’m really excited about EW. We are currently working to get the script fan worthy and then we’ll be full on from there.”
Valiant Entertainment for the moment has not said anything about this comment by Bautista. Although we can speculate that the Eternal Warrior’s character may be mixed in with the current Archer and Armstrong film that is currently being developed as well because in the comics Gilad Anni-Padda, the Eternal Warriors actual name, is Armstrong’s brother.

For a little background, Gilad Anni-Padda is an immortal, but the downside to that is that he can be killed, but he will always be resurrected. Also, he has been deemed the protector of the Geomancer who is someone that the planet chooses as it’s champion in times of need. If you would like to reference the two characters check out their mini-series The Valiant, written by Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt. In this story we see how throughout the past time and time again he as failed to protect the Geomancer from an evil force of nature called The Immortal Enemy and how this time around things will be different.
As a fan of Valiant comic books, especially characters like Bloodshot and Archer and Armstrong, it’s exciting to hear rumors about Valiant properties being developed into films. They have done a fantastic job at releasing a lot of very good quality comics that I would recommend to pick up. Hopefully we will get more answers soon as Valiant has promised big casting announcements soon. Do you want to see Valiant characters on the big screen?
