New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Rumors – Space Horses & Finn’s Great Escape

We have had a lot of rumors and potential leaks regarding Star Wars: The Last Jedi to share with you over the last few weeks, and while nothing is as yet confirmed, I think it’s all good fun to speculate on these rumors whether they pan out or not. After all, we still have very little official information to go on with only eight months until the film’s release.

The latest rumor comes courtesy of the folks over at Making Star Wars. It’s not the most exciting news I’ve heard, but it all adds to the puzzle building speculation game, which to me is far more fun than confirmed definite spoilers.

However as always, this stuff could be spoiler territory, so

SPOILER ALERT!

This latest rumor involves “Canto Bight,” the supposed name of the casino-looking planet that Finn and Rose go undercover on in The Last Jedi. The scene involves Finn and Rose escaping from some guards on a race horse, which was simply dubbed “Space Horse” up until now. The outlet is reporting that they now have a name for this animal, and that it will be called a “falthier.”

The outlet also goes on to describe the scene a little, some of which is based off spy reports from Dubrovnik, where the Canto Bight stuff was filmed. The falthier are quite alien looking steeds, but appear to be race horses within a stable, complete with jockeys, and this is where the action scene begins. Finn and Rose are being pursued by security or criminals in sharp-looking tuxes, and our heroes will use a falthier to escape from their pursuers, who are using a luxury speeder. There will be a battle, and Rose will be vital in defeating the attackers, after which Finn and Rose will meet with their contact as scheduled at an eating establishment. I am going to speculate this contact is Benicio Del Toro’s character who we are currently calling D.J.

There is also a description of the cafe/restaurant’s wares. The outlet described bright colors of items which look like space candy, though this may not be the intention or simply taken out of context.

What does appear clear from all these rumors is that the main characters in The Last Jedi will split into three separate groups. Luke, Rey, Chewy and BB-8 are on Ach-To doing the Jedi training thing. Finn and Rose are off on some secret mission, which I speculate puts them in contact with D.J. on Canto Bight. Lastly we have Poe Dameron, General Leia Organa, and Laura Dern’s Admiral Holdo seemingly engaged with Supreme Leader Snoke and his massive war fleet across the Galaxy.

How will they all come back together again at the films climax, or will they at all? Which of these three stories will see the most screen time and be the primary story thread throughout the film?

Let’s speculate further in the comments section down below.
