As I’m writing this, it’s still very possible that the Power Rangers film can fall apart into awfulness. Having said that, the marketing material shown off by Lionsgate has been nothing but promising. The trailers, the posters, even the first clip have all been spot-on, and se couldn’t be more excited to see the Rangers suit up in all their shiny glory.

Now, a couple weeks in advance of the release, it looks like the studio is in triage mode, sharing clips, TV spots, and everything under the sun. If you’re already sold on the concept of a Power Rangers film, you may not be interested in seeing anything more from the flick. However, if you’re still undecided on your stance, I do recommend checking out the latest clip.

In the clip, we see the teen heroes in the water in a cavern of some sort. As shown in the trailers, they begin to glow their respective colors. Billy and the rest then dive deep into the water, and find an air pocket deeper below in what’s a pretty trippy scene.

Check out the clip below!

What I love most about this clip is the sense of discovery and wonder. All superhero films have this sort of discovery period in them, but considering the young age of the Rangers, that aspect is amplified. Additionally, where most superheroes are alone in discovering their powers, the fact that these kids are discovering it together makes it all the more exciting and fun.

Based on all they’ve shared, I have little doubt that the first half of the film will be chock-full of awesomeness, but I still find myself skeptical of the latter half. How good of a villain will Rita Repulsa be, and more importantly, will they be able to escape the generic third act shortcomings of many superhero films before it?

We’ll have to wait and see! What did you think of this new trailer? Let us know your thoughts down below!

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
