According to TheWrap, The CW, along with Carina Adly MacKenzie, who is known for her work on the vampire show The Originals, is developing a reboot of the sci-fi series, Roswell.
The show will stray slightly from the original series in that, along with aliens, the show will have a focus on immigration, as the title character is the daughter of undocumented immigrants and upon returning to her home town of Roswell learns that her crush is not only a police officer, but an alien. She keeps his identity a secret, but the situation is sure to cause strain on their relationship.
The original Roswell ran from 1999-2002, way back when the CW was the WB network, and had some soon to be stars in its cast including Katherine Heigl, Colin Hanks, and Emilie de Ravin (LOST). Both the original and the coming reboot are based off Melinda Metz’s book series, Roswell High.
