It’s finally here, folks! After nearly a decade of well over a dozen films, we get to see all of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy team up against the big bad Thanos for Avengers: Infinity War. Well, at least in trailer form. After hyping up this latest trailer, Marvel Studios has finally released the brand new official trailer. Check it out above!

Avengers: Infinity War will serve as one of the culminations of the past decade of Marvel Studios films. If we thought that the heroes they brought together in Captain America: Civil War was big, we have no idea.

While that film only Brough together most of the Avengers at the time, this one looks to bring together everyone from Cap to T’Challa, all the way to the Guardians across the galaxy. After being teased since the end of the first Avengers film, we’ll also get to see what Thanos is made of, and considering how long they’ve been hyping him up, he has a lot to live up to.

Admittedly, I was expecting more of a teaser trailer for this one, and this newly-released video functions much more as a trailer (and is indicated as such in the description). Additionally, there’s a lot of heft to this, and by all indications, this will be quite a serious affair for the MCU as a whole (unlike, say, Thor: Ragnarok).

Below is the official synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War:

“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

“Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.”

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018.

2018 is going to get F***ED!!!… Hope this finally Beats Avatar in terms of Box Office… I know some teachers in High School are going to stop final period early for this… hahaha… was wondering why the internet was slow today… Right… Infinity War Trailer is Out…

  • SaiyanHeretic

    The hype is infinite.

  • Ditko

Well I’m sorry, but that wasn´t very exciting. Also, what the fuck are they doing to Thanos? First he lost his helmet and now he isn’t blue anymore?

    • Barry Meltfarb

He was never blue, he was purple. This hue is actually a little closer to the comics than what we’ve seen before. Although, he admittedly looks more human than I’d like.

  • Yerko Vidal Cvitanic

    Hey DC!

THIS IS HOW, IT IS DONE!

    • Yerko Vidal Cvitanic

Sorry, did not mean to say that, BATMAN is still my favorite…

      • Kindofabigdeal

I was wondering what you had against skate shoes.

  • Brafdorf

hopefully this one is well written this time

  • Ryan Fink

Again it seems Ant Man’s “there, but too small to see”….

  • Fluke Skycrawler

Ha ha, Captain America leading the charge with all the black warriors behind him, even out running the Black Panther. Not surprising.

    • TheOct8pus

      USA! USA!

    • Momitchell

He’s a Super Soldier for crying out loud!!! If he was being outrun by you, or me that would be ridiculous!!!

  • Mad Barchetta

I love the ominous sense of foreboding that permeates this trailer. Not sure how I feel about seeing Vision’s stone being…taken?…almost taken? Can’t decide if that truly is a spoiler, or not. It’ similar to seeing Rhodey shot down and laying unconscious in the Civil War trailer. Takes away some of the impact (ha! Pun unintended!) from that scene in the movie. But, I think we all knew that Thanos would be coming for Vision, so seeing the assault in progress isn’t that terribly spoilery, since we don’t see the stone actually taken from him.

I would have liked to see a bit more of Thanos being badass, to get a sense of his threat level. Seeing an army of aliens isn’t really something we haven’t seen before.

At the same time…I get the feeling that Marvel is going to draw this out a bit, and Thanos-related bad-assery will be coming in future trailers. They are just continuing the long-game tease at this point. So, in that respect….Bravo!

  • The_Thinker

I don’t feel that Disney put as much work into Thanos’ CGI as they did with Snoke from The Last Jedi trailer. Maybe I need to see more context but I was a little disappointed.

    • SeanDon

Yeah, I’m hoping that there is still CGI fine tuning left to do on him. The full CGI characters always just look fake to me, too cartoony.

      • Kindofabigdeal

They should have hired the people who made The Darkness in Legend for the close ups of Thanos. Obviously the action will need to be CGI.

      • Victor Roa

I’m shocked that the eye on Thor was added in the last couple of months from the comicon trailer. So there will be fine tuning to be done with current state of the shots.

    • randomironicname

I think Thanos looks a little goofy without any head wear. That and early stage CGI is a little distracting.

      • The_Thinker

I think he looks goofy in the comics without his helmet. Lol. But it’s the detail of his face that they need to step up. I have my fingers crossed.

    • Victor Roa

Disney stopped using ILM for their effects work on Marvel films, it’s Framestore who does the heavy stuff hence why Tarken looks horrible while Robert Downey Jr Flashback scene looks mind blowing

      • The_Thinker

Disney should’ve used some executive pull to enact a kind of company standard. I know the technology is changing and a LOT of work needs to be done, but THIS movie has been anticipated long enough to get the best first.

        • Victor Roa

uhhhhhhh, that’s not how movies work any more. Maybe in 1993, but now it’s like 12 different studios getting the green screen out and 7 other studios doing practicle effects and 3 other CG companies just to do a Del Toro produced horror film like Mama. Commissioning one house to done one thing is cheaper then having a house do everything since that’s how we bring in budgets of these films into something decent like 30 mil.
ILM is in an odd place at the moment, they are the Star Wars company considering just 4 years ago they did the work on Transformers and Pacific Rim. They have a good relationship with all companies even if it’s just to make only one shot in a film but now it’s getting to a point where their work is not as good as a video game company.

          • The_Thinker

I hear ya but all I’m saying is that if I was Kevin Feigh, I would be thinking that my franchise has earned enough clout & dough to not look shoddy when compared to the other franchises Disney has. Just shouldn’t happen. Period.

          • Victor Roa

but with that logic then you’d get Grand Moff Tarkin from Rouge one because ILM is the Star Wars house and they couldn’t even get one of their own characters right. Yes it’d be nice if one guy could do every effect but that’s not practical to do even with disney money (you get the game of thrones problem) and even if you recall thanos in Avengers 1 was done practical effects

  • The_Thinker

I REALLY can’t wait to see them show Lady Death. If she isn’t either represented or even shown, it will make Thanos’ motivation moot. I don’t want them to change that

  • Mad Barchetta

And why is Will Wheaton wearing Captain America’s uniform??

    • Kindofabigdeal

Because he is Captain America you moron!

      • Mad Barchetta

My apologies. Apparently that joke was too subtle for you.

        • Kindofabigdeal

My apologies. Apparently you’ve never seen Batman Returns.

          • Mad Barchetta

Ha! Seen it several times, but its been quite a long time since and that line didn’t stick with me. Got me with a very obscure one, there! Well played!

  • SeanDon

    Overall:
    – Still not a fan over 100% pure CGI characters. They never look realistic enough; maybe final CGI polishing changes that (but doubt it).
    – Lots of scared, ominous looks as the heroes are apparently overwhelmed and unmatched at times. Which is a welcome sight in these Marvel movies honestly.
    – Please let that battle with faceless, army of monsters be a short part of the film.
    – Get a first shot of Thanos’ Black Order and Proxima Midnight (1:20 in trailer) which is cool
    – Great1st trailer

  • FeixPunk

Great first trailer. I like how they gave us some footage that wasn’t part of the leaked footage from earlier this year. I love seeing Doctor Strange with Tony! Its like Sherlock please meet Sherlock. I’d love there to be a shot of someone saying “no duh, Sherlock” and then Tony and Strange look at each other. I am so stoked to see this movie. I am completely overwhelmed with emotions. Never thought I’d see a good take on The Avengers when I was a kid, not only did I get that but now I am getting an Infinity Gauntlet/War movie!!!!!!!! Eat your heart out WB! Hey DC fans, there’s always room for more on the Marvel bullet train to awesomeness!

    • TheOct8pus

Who says, “No duh, Sherlock?” I think you mean “No shit, Sherlock”…notice the alliteration?

      • FeixPunk

Yeah, just trying to be PG. LOL

        • TheOct8pus

Let it all out. We can take it

    • Nattown

You hit a bunch of nails on the head. Seeing this shit move, breathe, live from what we read as kids is super emotional. I don’t care how immature people think that is, it’s an absolutely amazing thing.

  • Kindofabigdeal

Having seen the bootleg leak earlier in the year this left me slightly unsatisfied. Like I got the best blowjob ever but finished with a handy. I can’t help but feel that this trailer was cut to make us equally hyped to see Black Panther in February. So I am hoping that they still have a lot of surprises left to show us in the coming months leading up.

    • Victor Roa

same, same. not the worst trailer so not the best handy either.

    • Jason Tyler

or you can just be surprised when you actually see the movie? Weird

  • Victor Roa

Man, I got a lot to say…… so Thanos has a big giant spinny thing to destroy the world….. so we are going from this

to a world destroyer thingie? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy his entrance a lot without the battle armor clever idea. I’m kinda dreading he’s coming off like Ultron even in his early trailers instead of the whole pontificating Thanos from the comics in surreal cosmic art
And how much is spoiled from Black Panther to reveal EVERYONE IN WAKANDA IS GEARED UP? Because I’m shocked they kept secret Thor missing an eye even during the Comicon trailer did still have his eye there.

  • CrystalClearTruth

at least they got Darkseid right this time.

  • Jason Tyler

Anyone catch War Machine? Also teenage groot 😀
