Given that Marvel’s next movie is called Avengers: Infinity War, it’s pretty much assumed that we’re getting a huge epic battle in the third act. The question, however, has always been HOW big? Before we talk about that, we have to at least talk about the biggest fight between named characters up until this point. I am, of course, talking about Captain America: Civil War.

As the name would indicate, the big showstopper for that movie was the fight between the Avengers themselves, which took place at an airport and ran an astounding 17 minutes in length. So does that mean we can expect the Avengers: Infinity War set piece to clock in longer? Speaking on Good Morning America, actor Anthony Mackie dropped a key piece of info:

“I got 25 pages, which was the final fight sequence,” he said when asked if he had a chance to read the whole script. He jokingly said he emailed them back, saying this was going to be the worst movie ever because there’s no story, before he got an email back saying “No, there’s like 250 other pages.”

Obviously, most of this was said in jest (there’s no way the script is actually 250 pages, right?), but the key there is the 25-page fight scene. For reference, the general rule of thumb in film is one page per minute of screen time, but if it’s action, there’s a chance that it can go even longer (dialogue-heavy scenes tend to go shorter). I think it’s safe to say that this final fight will be PLENTY long. My only question is…was Mackie only involved in that final scene, or was he just given that scene to start with and drip-fed the rest?

Probably the latter, but I guess we’ll never know!
