It’s been a long time coming but Star Wars Hunters finally gets a launch date trailer. I genuinely wondered, as did many Star Wars fans, if this would ever appear. I will stress that I seriously don’t fancy this game at all. However, that’s just my taste in video games as a middle-aged dude these days. Truthfully though I can see the ‘Overwatch‘ type attraction to this game. Therefore, if this is your type of game, it could be decent.
Check out the launch date trailer below. Star Wars Hunters releases on June 4th. Yes, that’s the same day Star Wars The Acolyte premieres on Disney+.
As said, this is not my type of game I doubt. It all looks a bit immature and cartoony for me. Yet, I totally appreciate that’s exactly the tone that suits this type of game.
What I’m less convinced by is the lack of gameplay footage shown so far for Hunters. Here, for the launch trailer I expect a cinematic trailer. Yet, I don’t recall us seeing too much gameplay footage for this one prior to this, so let’s hope that is coming. I’m always super suspicious of an approaching game with very little gameplay footage. It’s like seeing a GCI trailer for a live-action movie. That’s kinda cool, but you’re doing nothing to sell me the product.

This was the most recent gameplay trailer I found from Dec 2021. It still looks very ropey to me at this point, a clone of better games with a pretty basic Star Wars skin.
Star Wars Hunters is primarily a player vs player game, so I wouldn’t expect a deep and meaningful story. However, it’s that combat in practice I would want to see. Endor, Hoth, and more iconic locations from the movies will serve as the battlegrounds where the gameplay takes place.
Still, I’d wanna make sure it looks better than that video above before I drop any cash, maybe that’s just me.
