Avengers: Infinity War has hit theaters and it’s hard to talk about the film without talking about that damn ending. There was a lot of speculation as to whether or not Thanos would actually be getting his hands on all six Infinity Stones. Would he actually manage to assemble them and snap his fingers, thereby eliminating half of the universe from existence in the blink of an eye?

It turns out the answer was a resounding “hell yeah,” and audiences were hit with a proverbial Stormbreaker when roughly half of our superheroes disintegrated into nothingness. Over the course of an extended sequence, we saw countless others turn to dust, and if that ending deeply affected you, there’s a chance you’ve asked yourself one thing: would Thanos have spared me?

You will get one of two answers: “you were spared by Thanos,” or “You were slain by Thanos, for the good of the Universe.” Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why not just refresh?
